This product closely resembles the dental guard that my dentist made for me. Preparation and shaping the mouth guard was fairly simple - instructions would have been better with a picture of the mouth guard positioning on the wet paper towel subsequent to removal from the hot water - that part of the written instruction was slightly difficult to visualize - picture would have helped. Used it for the first time last night and it seemed slightly more comfortable than my previously dentist provided mouth guard. Don’t know if it lasts for any period of time. Just a note from my experience in shaping the mouth guard: although the instructions indicate ‘not to bite down’ on the mouth guard while shaping, I found after repeating the shaping procedure a second time that the second attempt was absolutely identical to the dentist provided mouth guard with a very light bite placed on the guard while shaping - just enough to leave an impression but not a firm bite which would have compressed or thinned the mouth guard material. I used a second guard from the package for my wife to experiment with. She had a little more difficulty getting the shaping process done correctly, so we had to reshape hers 4 times before she got it centered and impressed satisfactorily. The product material seemed to tolerate the multiple reshaping process ok - hers looked and felt the same as mine - no difference in the texture or flexibility of the product.
